Ingredients: 7 oz butter (200 g); 1½ cups sugar; 3 large eggs; 3½ cups all-purpose flour; 2½ tsp baking powder (one 10 g packet); 1 tsp baking soda; ¾ cup eshel (cultured milk) or sour cream (one tub (about 200 ml)); chocolate drink powder (shokolit) or chocolate chips

A simple butter and cultured-milk cake to go with coffee, with half the batter mixed with chocolate powder or layered with it.

What you need

7 oz butter, 200 g
1½ cups sugar
3 large eggs
3½ cups all-purpose flour
2½ tsp baking powder, one 10 g packet
1 tsp baking soda
¾ cup eshel (cultured milk) or sour cream, one tub (about 200 ml)
chocolate drink powder (shokolit) or chocolate chips

How I make it

Mix the wet ingredients and the dry ingredients in separate bowls.
Combine them gradually.
Stir the chocolate powder into half the batter, or layer the chocolate and batter alternately.
Grease the pans and bake at 400°F (200°C) for about 45 minutes.
