About me
I'm Efrat, and this is my notebook. It's where I write down what I cook and bake at home for family and friends.
Where it comes from
I've been cooking for as long as I can remember. I learned from my grandmothers, my mother, the rest of my family and friends, and I still cook from those memories. In my own kitchen I keep the traditional dishes and add my own twists along the way.
The notebook holds Israeli and American recipes I've gathered over the years, with plenty of dishes for Shabbat and the holidays.
How I cook
For me, cooking is about the people around the table as much as the food. I use fresh, simple ingredients and keep the steps practical. Most of these recipes are for bringing the family together, for celebrating, and for making an ordinary day a little tastier.
Kosher
Every recipe here has a kosher version. When the original calls for something that isn't kosher, I keep it as an option and put a kosher alternative right next to it.
In two languages
The notebook is written in Hebrew and English. The English recipes use US measurements.
