Ingredients: 1 container sour cream (about 1 cup); 1 container heavy cream (about 1 cup); 1 cup sugar; 3 large eggs; 1 tsp vanilla extract; ¼ tsp salt; 1½ cups self-rising flour; 1½ cups pitted cherries, tossed in flour

A simple sour cream and heavy cream cake with cherries that I mix in one bowl and bake until it's still moist inside.

How I make it

Preheat the oven to 340°F (170°C).
In a bowl, mix the sour cream, heavy cream, sugar, eggs, vanilla and salt.
Add the flour and mix until smooth.
Stir in the cherries.
Pour into greased and floured pans.
Bake for 40-45 minutes, until a toothpick comes out almost dry with a few moist crumbs.

What I've learned

The batter comes out a little thin, and that's fine.
