How I make it
Pinwheels
Divide the pastry into two pieces.
Spread each piece with chocolate spread and brush with 2 tbsp of the melted butter. Sprinkle with 3 tbsp brown sugar, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1 cup granola and half the raisins.
Roll each piece up tightly and put both logs in the freezer for 15 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
Cut each log into 12 slices, ¾ inch (2 cm) thick, and set them cut side up on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake for about 20 minutes, until cooked through. Let cool.
Glaze (optional)
Bring the honey and water to a boil.
Brush over the pinwheels, let cool and serve.
What I've learned
- I keep the pinwheels in an airtight container.
- For a parve version I use parve puff pastry and brush with melted margarine instead of butter.
