Chocolate-Dipped Butter Cookies Draft

Fingers of simple butter dough that I dip halfway in bittersweet chocolate, a few ingredients for bakery-style cookies.

How I make it

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).

  2. In a stand mixer, beat the butter and sugar until fluffy. Add the vanilla.

  3. Add the flour and salt and mix to a uniform dough.

  4. Turn the dough out onto the counter and press into a flat disk. Wrap in plastic wrap and chill for 30 minutes.

  5. Roll the dough out ⅝ inch (1.5 cm) thick and cut into fingers about ⅝ by 3¼ inches (1.5 by 8 cm).

  6. Arrange on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 20-25 minutes.

  7. Melt the chocolate in the microwave. When the cookies are cool, dip each one halfway in the chocolate and set aside until firm.
