Light Apple Crumb Cake Draft
My light apple crumb cake, a thin crust with just a little butter, cinnamon-nutmeg apples and an oat crumble on top.

What you need

How I make it
Prep
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a 9-inch (22 cm) pan with cooking spray.
Crust
Pulse the flour, sugar and salt in a food processor to combine.
Add the butter and process until crumbly.
Add the water and process until a dough forms.
Press the dough into the pan and up the sides, and prick it lightly with a fork.
Filling and crumble
Mix all the filling ingredients in a bowl and spread over the crust in an even layer.
Melt the butter and stir in the oats, flour and sugar. Pinch together and scatter evenly over the filling.
Baking
Bake for 20 minutes.
Lower the heat to 350°F (180°C) and bake for another 30-40 minutes, until the crumble is golden. If it browns too fast, cover it for the last 20 minutes.
Let cool for at least 30 minutes before slicing.
