Maple Walnut Cake Draft

A one-bowl sour cream and walnut cake that I soak with maple syrup as soon as it comes out of the oven.

I bake it in a 10-inch (26 cm) round pan, a silicone bundt pan, or three loaf pans.

How I make it

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and grease the pan with cooking spray.

  2. Mix all the ingredients in the order listed.

  3. Pour into the pan and bake for about 50 minutes in a round pan, or about 40 minutes in loaf pans.

  4. Take out of the oven and immediately pour maple syrup generously over the cake.

  5. Cool completely before slicing.

What I've learned

  • For a lighter cake, I first beat the eggs with both sugars for 5 minutes.
